Welcome
Welcome to my 3rd and 4th grade classroom! My name is Maria Thompson, and this is my 4th year teaching math and science at Seashore Learning Center. I've always loved school, and continued to pursue my education after high school. After graduating from the University of Texas-Austin with my bachelor’s degree in Applied Learning and Development, I earned by master’s degree in Elementary Education from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. When I am not at school, my three children keep me busy. We love to play at the beach, read books, and watch movies.
Creating a classroom website is new for me, so consider it a work in progress! If you need to get in touch with me, please email me at mthompson@seashore.esc2.net
Classroom Updates and Upcoming Events
This year Seashore is piloting its SEA Program to offer high-achieving students a way to excel within and beyond the classroom. SEA students participate in a variety of challenging projects, often driven by their interests. I have put together an overview of what SEA students will be doing in my classroom this year. Following are the attachments that are referenced in the overview.

Book Wish List
I have added a button to the top menu of this page that links to an Amazon.com wish list. We are always in need of more nonfiction science books that are appropriate for 8-10 years olds. This wish list represents many of the topics we study and the types of books that would be a great addition to our classroom, whether they are new or gently used. We always appreciate your donations!
